Good afternoon. I was wondering, as some of the other dudes here, if you guys could send me the driver, since it doesn’t work on my laptop. The strange thing is that it works on my other PC. Well thanks in advance.

Hi All,
The CD provided with the Samsung yp-u3 2GB MP3 PLAYER is of standard size (eventhough it is small in size, but the inner circle is standard). And comming to the driver: You need Windows Media Player 10 or above to support this MP3 player.

This Mp3 plauer works like a pen drive. You dont need any software to use it. It’s basicly a pen drive that plays music. The software in the mini CD that works in a normal cd drive its just a software to play music.

This is the easyer mp3 player to use. You can charge the mp3 player in every computer with USB you can find and grabb music from any computer without having to instal nothing!

Its a bad Mp3 player?
Maybe those mp3 players that you have to take chargeble cable along with you avery were and only grabb music from computers with specified software instaled are better… yhea right…

the battery doenst last 15 houres like it is sayed in the box but it is fully charged in One houre.

I have mine for a long time now, it has a dificult life, i use it every sigle day and it never stoped working. It’s very small and can fitt every were

it doenst make you toasts and tea, but…
It’s a great mp3 player

THIS ISNT DIFFICULT, you plug it into any pc and it will be read automatically, all you need is WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 OR ABOVE.

IF YOU DO NOT UPDATE WINDOWS MEDIA TO 10 OR ABOVE THE PLAYER WILL NOT BE RECIGNISED.

If you’re using a mac, well, you’re screwed. But you got a mac, so you should have expected that.

Heres the deal, if your a mac user, it wont work, if you are a windows xp or vista user and dont fancy all the poncing about with the drivers, chuck it into your usb port and sync your tracks with the mp3 player in “windows media player”.
Easy

Heres the deal, Doesnt support MAC. With Windows, need windows media player 10 or up, and you do need the right driver. On one computer i plugged it into, it worked just fine, so i figured it would work on my comp. I tried and my comp did not have a driver for it. upgraded to WMP 11, still nothing. It requires a driver, and if anybody has that driver, please email it to pyork211099@gmail.com

could it have something to do with the fact that i only have usb1.0 slots. The spec says that it needs usb2.0. I’m hoping that this isn’t true otherwise i’m done for!

OK THIS WORKS!!!!

The drivers for the player are installed to your hard drive after you install the Samsung media studio software (take note of exactly where it goes as you need to know this later - usually c:program files). I found the Samsung software wouldnt install correctly until I had FIRST installed Windows Media Player 10. Once the Samsung Media Studio was installed I told windows to search for new hardware (under control panel). It told me the Samsung YP-U3 was there but it had no drivers (thats because I had already plugged it in before I installed the media Studio software - and it couldnt find the drivers). I told it to look for drivers specifically under the media studio install location - there was a folder marked something like Hard drive dll (or something). I told windows to look there for the drivers and it found them … the player now works.
I’m still a little annoyed as the player doesnt work as a “true” usb device … which means I cant just use windows explorer to drag/drop files … I have to have the stooopid media studio installed - which sucks!!
I guess If I had of followed these steps I wouldnt have run into problems … 1. Install Windows Media Player 10. 2. Install Samsung Media Studio. 3. Plug the device into my USB port. Of course Samsung didnt give us any proper instructions. I should have known better ….. I wont be buying samsung again (no, really … I mean it this time!)

THANK YOU. Player is now recognised due to your bit about the drivers. Prior to this I fully updated Windows, downloaded a bunch of stuff and upgraded to WMP 11 but it still didn’t work.

Funny, I downloaded some drivers from the website, but windows didn’t recognise them. I used the one in the top secret folder.

Why don’t they say all this in the instructions? It’s not even in the manual. Four hours I’ve been trying to work the damn thing. Seems I got off lightly, but then I haven’t tried to put music on it yet. Lol.

Bully for all you people that got it to plug and play, but it doesn’t work like that for everyone!
